Urban Dreams Music and Arts Program (UDMA) a national leader in the effort to assure diversity in the arts. Founded in 2018, UDMA is a Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that offers inner city youth between the ages of 8 and 19 advanced study and high caliber success in instrumental music and dance. UDMA’s objective is to transform the lives and minds of young people by developing character, challenging emotional, physical, psychological, and social recreation while promoting the values of team work through camaraderie, honor and respect by dignity, determination with grit, and perfection through showmanship.

UDMA is entirely community-funded, and led by our devoted volunteers and our professional teaching artists, who work tirelessly with the Dreamers to cultivate and sustain a distinguished, responsible, and resourceful youth organization. All instruments, instruction, paraphernalia and uniforms are provided to Dreamers who pay a commitment participation fee.

To be a world leader and trailblazer in the development of the world-class leaders through music and arts.

To build and sustain a community fine arts program that supports the dreams, goals and overall academic success of students grades 6 – 12 through music and arts education. Urban Dreams wishes to strengthen local band programs, increase college readiness and develop talent for collegiate and professional instrumental music ensembles. Through music theory, instructional learning and digital media, we challenge scholars to be creators and innovators as they develop their own sound.

To teach youth in the DFW metroplex the great music of the world, provide opportunities for them to perform that music in some of the greatest settings of the world, and prepare them for opportunities to play in collegiate and professional ensembles.
